Hi! My name is Amy and I'm from Chicago. I am a rising senior at Northwestern
University studying Mathematical Methods in the Social Sciences (MMSS), Statistics, and Economics.
My primary major, MMSS, is a unique program that merges mathematics and economics into a
quantitatively rigorous major that allows for a solid understanding of fundamental economic
principles. Additionally, the challenging coursework present throughout the program has refined my
analytical abilities.
When I was young, I would always try to deconstruct simple pages in HTML and see how changing one
piece of code led to a visual difference. That was how I naturally picked up coding, which led to me
teaching myself Python while I was in university. After working on a few projects, I realized that I
enjoyed programming. Through internships and extracurriculars, I have gained a passion for software
engineering, and am now planning on pursuing it as a full-time career after graduation.
